Grids Worth a Mention

15-metre-wide 50-ton cattle grid

Early in 2023, we were tasked with the job of fabricating our record-breaking 15-metre-wide cattle grid. Of course, we took the challenge in our stride. The grid was constructed in 4 base frame sections and 8 top sections. It took 2 of our fabricators just over 4 days. When we say we cater to any width, we really mean it!

7.4-metre-wide x 4m across highway Grid

Late in 2021, we were asked by a council in the southwest of England to replace an existing grid that had been supplied by another firm and failed to meet the loading requirements of a busy main road feeding into a substantial quarry. The road had an 80mm camber to the middle and could not be shut due to high traffic and poor diversion routes. We made the grid in two halves so that the road did not have to be closed. A challenging but enjoyable project which I believe the council are thrilled with the results.

Although this may not seem anything unusual being a standard grid of 10ft wide, but this grid is in fact over 30 years old! The customer had pulled it up out of the ground to close the entrance off and take it to one of his other farms to be reinstated! This is proving our quality promise that our products are built to last, not to replace.
